1.Overview

The high-voltage AC filter device is suitable for AC power systems with a frequency of 50 Hz and a system voltage of 6 to 35 kV to reduce the harmonic of the power system, and also have a complete set of devices for improving the power factor.
In an ideal power system, electrical energy is delivered to users at a single fixed frequency (50Hz or 60Hz). However, if there are nonlinear loads or surge loads, such as rectifier equipment, frequency conversion equipment, electric arc furnaces, electrified railways, etc., connecting to the system, a large amount of high-order harmonic currents will be generated, which will cause distortion of the system voltage and current waveforms and cause harmonic pollution of the power system. When the voltage distortion rate exceeds the standard requirements, filtering measures must be taken to limit the harmonics. The high-voltage AC filter device is an economical and practical solution.
High-voltage AC filter devices mainly include the following equipment: high-voltage filter capacitors, filter reactors, damping resistors, discharge coils, zinc oxide arresters, isolation and grounding switches, frames, connecting wires, pillar insulators, bus bars, fences, etc.
The high-voltage AC filter device can be designed with a single-tuned circuit for characteristic harmonics and a high-pass filter circuit for higher harmonics according to the test data.
The high-voltage AC filter device can double as reactive power compensation according to its configuration.
